Egypt (مِصر‎‎, مَصر‎‎), officially designated as the Arab Republic of Egypt, extends from the east side of North Africa to the southwest part of Asia through the Sinai Peninsula, making Egypt a transcontinental country. This peninsula is known for Mount Sinai, which is holy for the Abrahamic religions. The country’s main attraction is its history: Ancient Egypt, one of the few historical civilisations that emerged independently.

Egypt’s general desert climate and arid terrains are too harsh, thus the urban centres are situated along the narrow Nile River Valley: around 99% of the population uses less than 6% of the territory.

Nowadays tourism is one of the most important sectors in Egypt's economy thanks to its ancient landmarks, dating back to the time of the Pharaohs, amongst modern features, especially in the area of Greater Cairo, the heart of Egypt. Let yourself be amazed by the live cams in this superb country.
