Nyandarua County is situated in Central Kenya whose capital is Ol Kalou. This agricultural region is bounded to the counties of Lakipia (north and north east), Muran'ga and Nyeri (east), Nakuru (west and south west) and Kiambu (south). The east part of the county covers part of the Aberdare National Park, with significant wildlife. The Lake Ol Bolossat is the babitat for approximately 180 species of birds. The Mount Kipipiri forest reserve in the Wanjohi  Valley, is an habitat for wildlife and biodiversity and home to Green Belt Movement’s projects.
