This camera feed is mounted at the Maritime Traffic Control Tower Port authority in Algés “Torre VTS de Lisboa” and provides wonderful views of the surrounding areas around and across the Tagus River, including sunset views and close-ups of the 25th of April Bridge “Ponte 25 de Abril”, the Belém Tower (Torre de Belém ), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Sanctuary of Christ the King (Santuário de Cristo Rei) a monument located in the city of Almada.
The Port of Lisbon is Portugal's third-largest port, lying on the Tagus's River Estuary natural harbour near the historic and cultural city centre, which extends west onto the Atlantic Ocean through a short strait.
Lisbon is one of the most popular tourist destinations and international cruise ports in the world, as well as a national leader in the agri-foodstuffs bulks handling ranking and a strategic port in the import and export of the Iberian Peninsula's agri-foodstuffs industry.

The Port's jurisdiction area includes the municipalities of Alcochete, Almada, Barreiro, Benavente, Lisbon, Loures, Moita, Montijo, Oeiras, Seixal, and Vila Franca de Xira, which are located on both sides of the Tagus estuary, Western Europe's largest estuary that connects to the Atlantic Ocean in a 32,000-hectare basin.
