The live webcam stream above shows various perspectives of the three Regional Class Research Vessels being built by Oregon State University at Gulf Island Shipyards in Houma, Louisiana, United States.
The project involving these three new research vessels will be part of the University-Oceanographic Laboratory System (UNOLS) and funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
The R/V Taani, the first vessel, will operate out of Oregon State University on the West Coast. The University of Rhode Island will operate the second vessel, which will be known as the R/V Narragansett Dawn. The University of Southern Mississippi and the Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium will operate the third ship, the R/V Gilbert R. Mason.
