This village of about 1,800 residents is at the heart of the fruit belt in the southwest part of the state, near Lake Michigan. This area is favourable to fruit production due to the westerly winds that create a lake effect climate. Around the village there are stunning trails for hiking and cycling, namely the Kal-Haven Trail and at the nearby Van Buren Trail State Park.
