The buildings along the avenue are visible here, as is the spire of the local First Congregational United Church of Christ. Several buildings on Kemp Avenue are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Watertown's historic structures include the Codington County Heritage Museum, which was built in 1905, the Minneapolis and St. Louis Railroad Depot, which was built in 1911, and the John B. Hanten House, which was built in 1913.
