Grand Bahama is the fourth largest and the northernmost island of the Bahamas archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean. Situated just 84 kilometres (52 mi) east of the U.S. state of Florida, the island is known for its white sand beaches, emerald green seawater and delightful landscapes.

Grand Bahama is ideal for water sports namely scuba diving, kayaking and dolphin watching. For boating enthusiasts there are excellent facilities including Old Bahama Bay Marina in West End, the islands’ capital. In Lucayan National Park, you will find one of the longest underwater cave systems in the world. Besides visiting these wonders, popular activities in the natural areas include jeep safaris, biking and bird watching tours.

The island offers many festivals and cultural events throughout the year and the nightlife is always animated in the bars and nightclubs. The largest city is Freeport, where you will find Port Lucaya Marketplace, a famed open-air area with many shopping, dining and entertainment options.
