Bosnia and Herzegovina (Bosna i Hercegovina, Боснa и Херцеговина, Bosna I Hercegovina) is a country situated on the Balkan Peninsula, Southeastern Europe.  It borders the countries of Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro, with an Adriatic Sea coastline of about 20 km.
This country is divided into the regions of Bosnia, which occupies about four-fifths of the territory, in the northern part, and of Herzegovina, in the southern areas.
Bosnia and Herzegovina has inherited a rich culture translated into arts, such as the distinctive music and architecture and, as it has a mountainous topography and snowy winters, skiing is a popular sport such as in Blidinje ski resort. The capital Sarajevo, situated on the banks of Miljacka River and surrounded by the Dinaric Alps, is characterised by a multicultural image with an Eastern charm.
