The island of Sal is part of the archipelago of Cape Verde, in the northern group of islands called Barlavento. It is composed of only one municipality also called Sal.
In the southern tip is the main resort of the island - Santa Maria, with a wonderful sand beach and a pier, and where you will find numerous hotels and villas.
In Pedra de Lume, on the east coast of Sal, there is a salt lake in an extinct volcano crater, where visitors may float and enjoy the healing benefits of the salt.
