São Vicente is one the islands of Cape Verde, in the central Atlantic Ocean, being part of the northern group - the Barlavento Islands. Its capital, Mindelo, is considered the archipelago’s cultural hub, with a strong tradition of music and art, and an animated nightlife. In the city you will find the wonderful Lagina Beach, and many other wonderful stretches of sand around São Vicente, such as São Pedro Beach, excellent for speed windsurfing, and Baía das Gatas where you can swim in the natural lagoon. For excellent views of the island, there is Monte Verde, the island's highest point, within Monte Verde Natural Park.
