Varaždin County (Varaždinska županija) is in northern Croatia bordering Slovenia (northwest), the counties of Zagreb (south), Koprivnica-Križevci (southeast),Krapina-Zagorje (southwest) and Međimurje (north). The city of the same name, Varaždin, features an old town, restored baroque architecture, fine buildings, and offers beautiful parks and gardens to admire and relax. Other towns in the county have much less population than the capital, including the picturesque Ivanec and Varaždinske Toplice, known for its hot springs.
