Zadar County, Croatian Zadarska županija is a county region in Croatia, its population is around 170,000 and its main city is Zadar. The county of Zadar has 300 islands and a big costal area which accounts for 12% of the territorial waters, it also has Parklenica national park. Zadar airport has been updated and work on runway improvements will soon begin. Tourism is one of Zadar County's most important sourse of income due to its mild climate, clean sea, inlets and beaches with more then 1,300 KM of coast. Zadar County has areas of outstanding natural beauty: The Velebit, Telaščica and Pakienica and nearby Krka and Kornati national parks in the south and the Plitvice Lakes national park in the north. The largest towns are Zadar, Benkovac, Bibinje, Biograd, Nin, Obrovac and Pag. The countys accounts for more then 6 percent of total area of Croatia.
