Kyrenia District (Κερύνεια; Girne), also called Girne District is situated in Northern Cyprus. The coastline of this region is a favoured beach destination such as the long Alagadi Turtle Beach and the charming Denizkizi Beach. The region's administrative centre is Kyrenia, a delightful harbour town with numerous cultural attractions, beautiful sights and plenty of activities to explore including scuba diving, turtle watching and sailing. The city also offers a spirited nightlife.
In the Kyrenia Mountains stands the castles of Buffavento and Saint Hilarion and from the village of Bellapais, there are outstanding views towards the Mediterranean Sea.
