At the Dvůr Králové Zoo, there are six hippos: the male is called Mike, the largest female is named Hula, and the other female is called Mona. The cubs are: Houbin, Mejdlin, the largest of the cubs, and Matilda, the youngest, born in the summer of 2020. Safari Park Dvůr Králové, formerly known as Dvůr Králové Zoo until 2018, spans 72 hectares (180-acres) and is located in the town of Dvůr Králové nad Labem, as shown on the map below.
This Safari Park has been an important centre for African ungulate breeding, supports the return of animals to their natural habitats, and protects endangered and threatened wildlife species.
