This replaces the one in the square of which stood the original from 1650 until 1918, when it was demolish following the Czechoslovak Declaration of Independence.
In the foreground, Jan Hus Memorial - a magnificent monument in bronze and stone honouring Jan Hus, a 14th century religious reformer.
On the left-hand side is the imposing 14th-century Old Town Hall. It is famous for its medieval astronomical clock (called Prague Astronomical Clock, or Prague Orloj), as well as for the amazing views from the monumental clock tower! Standing out on the right-hand side is St. Nicholas' Church, completed in 1755. It is considered “the greatest Baroque church in Prague”!
