Along Velké Square, there are colourful buildings and the magnificent medieval tower of the Kromeriz Archbishop's Palace, which stands at the northern corner of the large square. Kroměříž Archbishop's Castle has been a UNESCO WORLD Heritage Site since 1998, with superb Baroque buildings, well-preserved interiors, and impressive gardens. It stands 84 metres tall, with a 40-meter-high observation deck at the top of 206 steps.
Velke namesti also houses the Kromeriz City Museum as well as Renaissance-style houses and Art Nouveau facades. In the centre of the square are two Baroque landmarks: a Marian column commemorating the end of the plague in 1680 and the Kašna fountain from 1665. This live view is from Kromeriz City Hall, which is marked on the map further down the page.
