This moving HD live webcam with close-ups at the St. Michael's Church Tower (Hauptkirche St. Michaelis) in Hamburg, Germany, provides an excellent perspective of the cityscape and the important Port of Hamburg, on the Norderelbe waterfront on the Elbe River.
We highlight here an overview of the city centre with its exquisite historic and modern buildings, such as the stunning Elbphilharmonie concert hall on the left side of the panorama. It is nicknamed Elphi and is one of the most acoustically advanced concert halls in the world! The city has a vibrant cultural scene, with various attractions, galleries, theatres, and numerous museums, such as the Miniatur Wunderland, the waterfront museum ships of Cap San Diego, and the Rickmer Rickmers museum (Museumsschiff Rickmer Rickmers), to mention a few.
Continuing downstream on the other side of the Elbe River is Hamburg Port's overseas terminal area and large cranes, the dry dock Elbe 17, Blohm+Voss Shipyard, and the popular Musical-Boulevard Hamburg, where some of the most popular musicals performed include The Lion King, Aladdin, Mary Poppins, and The Tina Turner Musical (Tina).
The Port of Hamburg, on the river Elbe, is called the "Gateway to the World", a hub for cruise ships, and the heart of the city with vast opportunities for leisure, culture, markets, and harbour tours.
