Central Greece Region (Περιφέρεια Στερεάς Ελλάδας) comprises the eastern part of the geographic region of Central Greece. It includes Euboea, also known as Evia - the second largest island in the country (after Crete), and other smaller islands namely Skyros.
The administrative region features significant archaeological sites especially in the town of Delphi, a favoured tourist destination. There are also impressive historical landmarks including a few Byzantine monasteries namely Hosios Loukas.
