Thassos or Thasos, in the Aegean Sea, is the northernmost island of Greece and the 12th largest in terms of area, having approximately 14,000 residents. Despite the mountains, forests and beaches, and also the sunny and warm climate throughout the year, tourism sector is not so strong as on other islands.

If you want to know Thassos Town a bit better, watch the live view cams. In ancient times, it was well known for its termae (bath complexes). Some of the main landmarks are the Archaeological Museum of Thasos, the Folklore Museum of Limenaria and the Polygnotos Vagis Municipal Museum, and there are also several monasteries to visit, namely Archangel Michael’s, Saint Panteleimon and the Assumption monasteries.
