The region of Campania is in the southwest part of Italy whose administrative centre is the outstanding city of Naples.
Campania is culturally very rich and abundant with historic sites including the archaeological areas of the ancient city of Pompeii, which you can admire in Pompei and also see a few significant collections in the National Archaeological Museum in Naples.
The wonderful Amalfi Coast has picturesque towns along its dramatic coastline on the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is an idyllic tourist destination and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Campania includes the Phlegraean Islands in the Gulf of Naples, as well as the island of Capri, which is not included in that archipelago, for being of different geologic formation.
