This Oceanreef webcam shows a spectacular live underwater view from the Marine Protected Area (Area Marina Prottetta Isola di Bergeggi) of Bergeggi Island in the Liguria Sea, Italy.
Enjoy viewing the abundance of fish just off the coast of Bergeggi commune. In fact, since Bergeggi Island became a marine reserve in 2007, the number of diverse fish species has increased.
The Marine Protected Area contains vast areas of underwater meadows of Posidonia oceanica, also known as Mediterranean tapeweed or Neptune grass, as well as coral reefs and caves.
It is possible to dive in this marine reserve in the Gulf of the Island. Other ways to explore this area is by snorkelling, scuba diving, sailing with expert guides, kayaking or canoeing, and even stand up paddle around Bergeggi Island. You can also book a tour to the impressive Marine Cave of Bergeggi, a karst cavity formed in dolomite limestone dating back about 200 million years.
Please see our map further down the page to locate the Marine Protected Area of Bergeggi Island in Italy's Ligurian Region.
