Kanagawa Prefecture (神奈川県), with its administrative centre in Yokohama, is in the east part of Honshu, the main island of Japan, within Greater Tokyo Area, and it is bathed by Tokyo Bay and Sagami Bay to the east.
The mountainous town of Hakone is a major tourist destination for its hot spring resorts (onsen), and other attractions including views to Mount Fuji, Hakone Open-Air Museum and Hakone Shrine, overlooking Lake Ashi. In Kanagawa prefecture you may also enjoy a great beach holiday such as in the town and island of Enoshima. In the coastal town of Kamakura there are numerous temples and monuments such as the Great Buddha, hiking trails on the hills and a seaside.
