This live stream webcam shows you the Hōzōmon Gates of the magnificent ancient Buddhist temple, Sensō-ji, situated in the Tokyo district of Asakusa.
In the foreground is displayed the Hozo-mon Gate, an inner entrance gate leading to Senso-ji Temple. The splendid gate houses many treasures of the temple including two Niō statues, three lanterns and two huge traditional sandals. It was built in 942 and last rebuilt in 1964, measuring in 22.7 metres (74 feet) in height, 21 metres (69 feet) in width and it is 8 metres (26 feet) deep.
Sensoji is the oldest temple in the capital of Japan, and the most visited spiritual place in the world, with over 30 million visitors yearly. It is the temple of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva (Sho Kanzeon Bosatsu), representing the compassion of all buddhas.
