Daugavpils is the second most populated city in Latvia, situated in the southeast part of the country.
This city has received many cultural influences over the centuries, as it was set at a strategic position on medieval trade routes. Its foundation site is considered to be the Dinaburg Castle. Today you can see its ruins on the bank of the Daugava River, as well as a stone model of the castle.
