The live webcams will show you around the state of Selangor, situated on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, enclosing the country's capital, Kuala Lumpur. It shares borders with Pahang to the east, Negeri Sembilan to the south, and Perak to the north, and has a long coastline along the Strait of Malacca.
Selangor is Malaysia’s most populated state and has the country's biggest urban conglomeration, Klang Valley, which is centred in Kuala Lumpur.
The state's capital, Shah Alam, was Malaysia's first planned city. It offers outstanding attractions, namely recreational destinations. Visitors enjoy the National Botanic Gardens at Shah Alam, the Wet World Water Parks at Shah Alam, lake trails, the I-City Theme Park, which has a shopping centre and an amusement park, and many other beautiful places. The city is home to the country's largest mosque, the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque.
Other major cities in Solangor include Petaling Jaya, locally called PJ. Notable landmarks are Kota Darul Ehsan, a row of arches on a major highway, and the Thai Wat Chetawan Buddhist temple. The district of Damansara is a major shopping hub in the city, and in Kelana Jaya you will find the huge Paradigm Mall, the pleasant Kelana Jaya Lake Park and many places of worship.
Besides the attractive cities, Selangor also has natural wonders as well as biodiversity, with 32 per cent of the state's land covered by tropical rainforest, which includes protected areas.
