The State of Mexico (Estado de México) is situated in the south-central part of Mexico.
The capital, Toluca de Lerdo, or simply Toluca, is one of the most thriving and industrialised cities in Mexico. Among the tourist attractions in Toluca are its magnificent colonial buildings, the Arches of Toluda (Los Portales of Toluca) and the Cosmovitral Botanical Garden.
Another favoured destination in the State of Mexico is the town of Ixtapan de la Sal, famous for its hot water springs, with many hotels and spas to choose. Near the town there are the wonderful grottoes Las Grutas de la Estrella.
Just northwest of Mexico City (not part of the state) there is a highly populated area designated Region XII composed of the cities Tlalnepantla de Baz and Ciudad López Mateos, also known as Atizapán.
The State of Mexico is commonly abbreviated “Edomex” as a way to differentiate its name from the whole country. Discover Live Streaming Webcams in the State of Mexico.
