Montenegro (Црна Гора) is situated in Southeast Europe on the coast of the Balkan Peninsula, bathed by the Adriatic Sea on the southwest of the country. It is bordered by the countries of Croatia to the west, Albania to the southeast, Kosovo to the east, Serbia to the northeast and Bosnia and Herzegovina to the northwest.
Montenegro is generally mountainous with high peaks, with a fascinating coastal plain. The narrow littoral is 295 km (183 mi) long, with wonderful beaches and appealing old towns. Among these are Budva and Ulcinj - where you will find the splendid Long Beach (Velika Plaža). The inland areas of Montenegro offer its visitors idyllic sceneries including stunning lakes and the world’s second deepest canyon - Tara Canyon.
