The Netherlands (Nederland), informally known as Holland, is a northwestern European country bordered by Germany, Belgium and the North Sea. Its humid temperate climate, with cool winters and warm summers, combined with predominantly flat terrain, favours agriculture, making this nation the world's second-largest exporter of agricultural products, after the USA. About 20% of the territory is located below sea level, and since it is such a flat country, the bicycle is a very common means of transport. Tulips, the canal network and windmills are a few symbols of the Netherlands. Browse through the live HD webcams to discover beautiful places.

Commonly considered a socially tolerant country, it has some of the world’s most liberal policies in terms of prostitution, recreational drugs, abortion, euthanasia, LGBT rights and religion. From the total 17 million inhabitants, less than 50% are religiously affiliated (mostly Roman Catholics and Protestants), thus making the Netherlands one of the most secular countries in the world.

The capital, Amsterdam, in the province of North Holland, houses the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum. It was also in this city that Anne Frank hid during WWII and wrote her diary. The Mauritshuis Museum Ir. D.F. Woudagemaal (a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the province of Friesland), Zaanse Schans, Keukenhof and Efteling are other attractions in the Netherlands. Besides the capital, Rotterdam, Utrecht, The Hague, Eindhoven and Groningen are other major cities to be visited.
