Enjoy the pleasant nature and river views from this live webcam feed at Fort Pannerden, a historic site in Doornenburg, the Netherlands.
From Fort Pannerden, one can see the busy maritime traffic along the Pannerden Canal and River Waal in the province of Gelderland. This was a military fort, strategically located at the junction of these two major branches of the Rhine.

Fort Pannerden was built between 1869 and 1871 to guard the watercourses in this area, adding up to the Dutch water line defence system of the 19th century, called the New Dutch Waterline.
A section of this historic landmark is now a museum, exhibiting a great representation of what the fort looked like when it was in use. The roof of the building is also a great spot for panoramic views! The surrounding area is ideal for hiking and cycling on the water's edge trails, as well as simply relaxing in nature.
