The county of Vestfold (Vestfold fylke) is in the southern part of Norway, and west of the Oslofjord. It shares borders with the counties of Buskerud and Telemark.
The inlet of Oslofjord, a fjord between Oslo in the north and Langesund in the south, allows you to cruise to the numerous picturesque islands of Vestfold. The capital city, Tønsberg, is considered the oldest town of Norway with the evidence of the famous Viking Oseberg ship, found near the town. An outstanding landmark in Tønsberg is Slottsfjell Tower, also known as Castle Hill, built as a memorial of the medieval Tønsberg Fortress. This old charming city is culturally dynamic, with the Quayside (Tønsberg Brygge), a central leisure and commercial area. The county of Vestfold has to show you other attractive towns including Larvik, Horten, and the largest – Sandefjord. Idyllic sceneries in Vestfold await your visit!
