Nowy Tomyśl is the capital town of the county of the same name, within the Greater Poland Voivodeship.
This town has a long tradition in wickerwork and is home to the biggest wicker basket in the world, according to the 2006 Guinness Book of Records. It can be seen in the town square. Tourists in town also visit the Museum of Basketry and Hop Growing, the Felix Szołdrskiego Culture and Recreation Park, and the ZOO Nowy Tomyśl.
