Greater Poland Voivodeship (Województwo Wielkopolskie), or Wielkopolska Voivodeship, is situated in the west-central part of Poland, and comprises most of the historic region of Wielkopolska. It is crossed by a few rivers, with Warta being the most significant, and it counts with numerous lakes. The province is covered by at least a quarter of forest, and there are several protected areas, such as Wielkopolska National Park, part of Drawa National Park, and twelve landscape parks. Its capital, Poznań, one of the largest and oldest cities in Poland, is an important economic and cultural centre. Among some of the most visited cities in Wielkopolska are also Wągrowiec and Turek.
