The Pomeranian Voivodeship or Pomerania Province (Pomorskie) is on the north central part of Poland, whose capital is Gdańsk, a beautiful port city on the Gulf of Danzig, on the Baltic Sea. Pomerania is famous for its seaside resort towns such as Hel on the narrow Hel Peninsula, port towns such as Gdynia and teutonic castles. A large metropolitan area stands in the coastal part of Pomerania, composed of the cities of Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia and a few smaller cities nearby.
