Live view of the art deco monument Christ the King (Cristo-Rei) located in Garajau, on Madeira Island, Portugal. The 15-metre tall statue, facing out to the sea, was built by devotion to the Sacred Heart and was inaugurated in 1927. At this viewpoint, on a high cliff, you have a grand view of land, including the Bay of Funchal on the east side, of the beach almost vertically down the cliff, and of the ships passing by very closely. A promenade will get you there, where a cable car station is available to take you to Garajau beach.
