Doca do Cavacas is a small beach complex popular with tourists that is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00 throughout the year and offers sea access, a lifeguard, and excellent facilities such as lockers, changing rooms, WC, sun loungers, first aid, and a support bar. This area does not have an elevator or wheelchair access.
Near the complex's main entrance is a tunnel that leads to Praia Formosa; however, the tunnel is usually open throughout the year but might be subject to closure during severe weather conditions.
In collaboration with Frente MarFunchal and Madeira-web.com, live webcams have also been installed at the beach complexes of Ponta Gorda, Lido, and Funchal Barreirinha.
