This live HD webcam stream looks out onto Cluj-Napoca's Union or Unirii Square (Piața Unirii), Romania's historical town Square.
This is one of the country's largest squares, measuring 220 metres by 160 metres. On the left is the Roman Catholic Gothic-style St. Michael's Church, the second largest in Transylvania, and its tower, at 76 metres high, is the tallest in the same geographical region of Romania.
The massive statue of King Matthias Corvinus of Hungary stands in the centre of the square, an equestrian monument from the 15th century with warrior statues on both sides. This sculpture, which was built in 1902, is listed on Romania's National Register of Historic Monuments.
The square is located in the historic city centre of Cluj-Napoca, surrounded by impressive historical buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries. The architecture is also diverse, with fine examples of Baroque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Neoclassical styles.
