The city of Sochi (Со́чи), located in Krasnodar Krai, on the coast of the Black Sea, hosted the 2014 Winter Olympics and is the most popular summer sea resort in Russia, thanks to its subtropical climate, characterised by warm summers and mild winters. With its endless beaches, such as Riviera Beach or Dagomys Beach, and vibrant nightlife, it attracts more and more visitors every year, thus being referred to as the Black Sea Pearl or the country’s Summer Capital. Its population, of about 343 thousand inhabitants, doubles with tourists during the summer months. Those travelling by train can arrive at Sochi railway station, the largest in the city, those travelling by boat may dock at the Port of Sochi, while those travelling by plane will land at the Adler-Sochi International Airport.
