Serbia (Србија) is a country in the Balkan Peninsula, southeastern Europe, with fertile plateaus, mountains and ski resorts. While in the northern part of the country summers are hot and humid, and winters are cold (continental climate), in the south, winters are relatively cold, with snow inland, and summers are hot and drier (continental and Mediterranean climate). From a total of over 7 million inhabitants, more than 80% are Orthodox Christians.
