The traditional region of Slovene Littoral (Primorska) is on the western part of Slovenia comprising the statistical regions of Goriška to the north and Slovenia Istria to the south. The Julian Alps, in the region’s northern area, offers outstanding landscapes with forested mountains, the stunning Soča Valley, and Soča River, popular for rafting. In the south part of Slovene Littoral is a coastline at Adriatic Sea, on the Istria Peninsula, where is Slovenia’s only access to the sea. Here, you will find excellent resort towns including Koper, Izola, Piran and Portorož with popular beaches such as Portorož Beach
