View the live webcam traffic activity on the iconic Yeongdo Bridge in Busan, South Korea. The camera zooms in on a section of the bridge over the water, with a beautiful cityscape in the background. Yeongdo Bridge is a lifting bridge built during the Japanese colonial period in 1934. It was built to connect Busanhang Port to nearby Yeongdo Island.
For decades, Yeongdo Bridge was the first bridge connecting the main part of Busan to Yeongdo Island, and it was lifted a few times daily to allow ships to pass through.
During the Korean War, the spectacular structure served as a gathering place and a symbol of hope for the refugees in Busan. To commemorate the refugees' suffering, a bridge-lifting ceremony is held on a regular basis, which has become a tourist attraction as well as a tradition.
