As shown on the map further down the page, Laguna de El Oso is made up of two lagoons that have been home to more than 170 different bird species. It is home to a large population of Greylag Goose and serves as a wintering ground for many bird species, including the Common Crane and Barnacle Goose. Avocet, Black-winged Stilt, Common Shelduck, Little Ringed Plover, Snipe, and White Stork are all common in the spring.
In the summer, you might see a Black-bellied Sandgrouse come over for a drink. There is a bird watching cabin and information tables nearby. In El Oso village, you can visit the Centro Lagunas De La Moraña museum, which is about the animals and plants that live in the lagoons, as well as many other attractions.
