The province of Salamanca is situated in the west part of Spain, in the autonomous community of Castile and León. Salamanca shares borders with Portugal (west) and the Spanish provinces of Ávila (south), Cáceres (east), Valladolid (northeast) and Zamora (north).

The heart of the province is its capital, Salamanca, a vibrant, enchanting city with splendid buildings of Renaissance and Baroque styles.
