Tarragona province is situated in the east part of Spain, belonging to the autonomous community of Catalonia. This province is bathed by the Mediterranean Sea, and offers an attractive coast with 150 miles of golden sand beaches, known as the Costa Dorada (Golden Coast). Tarragona is a tourist destination for its beaches, for its history and culture as well. The capital city with the same name is known for the roman ruins of Tarraco, designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, such as the Amphitheatre and the Roman Circus. The province is famous for its outdoor festivities throughout the year.
