Chiang Mai province (เชียงใหม่), in northern Thailand, is the second largest in the country. Located in the Mae Ping River Basin, it is surrounded by the Thai highlands. This province has many parks, including the Doi Inthanon National Park, where the highest mountain in Thailand is, and the breathtaking sceneries of Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park.
Thanks to its very attractive landscapes (with mountains and valleys, huge natural parks with waterfalls, and rivers), as well as to the fact that it enjoys lower temperatures comparing to southern provinces, Chiang Mai has been a paradise for tourists.
