Kiev is the capital and largest city of Ukraine, as well as one of the oldest eastern European cities. Divided by the Dnieper River, it comprises almost 3 million inhabitants. There are many museums, as the Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster Museum and the Museum of the Great Patriotic War, historical monuments, like the Golden Gates of Kiev and the National Parliamentary Library of Ukraine, and religious buildings, the most famous being St. Sophia's Cathedral. Kiev is served by two international airports: Boryspil Airport, 30 km from the city, and the smaller Zhulyany Airport, in the southern area outside the city. In both cases, it is possible to pick up your car rental directly on arrival.
