Sumy Oblast (Сумська область), or Sumy province, is in the north part of Ukraine, bordering the oblasts of Kharkiv (south), Poltava (southwest), and Chernihiv (west), and Russia (northeast and east). The capital city Sumy, on the Psel River, has numerous attractions from the earliest church - Voskresenskaya church (1702) to Trinit Cathedral and others magnificent temples, museums and green spaces.
A peculiar nature attraction within the town of Krolevets is the called apple tree-colony – a single tree which roots its branches to make them survive and grow stronger, hence spanning as if it were many trees! Sumy Oblast is gifted with beautiful nature reserves with forest, wildlife, biodiversity and 165 rivers crossing this region.
