The Zaporizhia Oblast (Запорізька область), also known as Zaporizhzhya, is situated in the south part of Ukraine. A few towns in this oblast, or province, are set on the coastline of the Sea of Azov, such as Berdyansk, a resort town home to health spas, water-sport activities on the beaches and other tourist attractions. In the capital city Zaporizhia, you will find excellent museums such as Boguslayev Museum of Technology and the Regional Lore Museum. Within the city limits is Khortytsia Island, on the River Dnieper with distinct wildlife and part of Khortytsia National Reserve.
