This live HD webcam stream takes you to Main Street in the downtown Saluda Historic District in North Carolina, United States.
On display is a section of Main Street at the intersection with State Route 1105, as well as the famous old railroad known as Saluda Grade, the steepest standard gauge mainline railroad in the United States, reaching an elevation of 606 feet (185 metres) in less than 3 miles (4.8 kilometres)!
The preserved history of this railroad is showcased in the Saluda Historic Depot, which is located near the City Government office and can be seen on the map further down this page.

In the Saluda Historic District, there are a number of buildings from the late 19th century and early 20th century, including Thompson's Store (1905-1910), which is located on this stretch of Main Street, as well as Heartwood Gallery, which is located next to the Purple Onion Restaurant.
Among its many historic and cultural attractions, Saluda also hosts the Coon Dog Day Festival, which honours the beloved hunting dog. The event takes place on the first Saturday after the Fourth of July and includes a vibrant parade along Main Street and daylong entertainment.
