This view from the Town Hall displays a stretch of Market Street, the main road in Smithfield. The town is along the Neuse River where there is the delightful Buffalo Creek Greenway, a paved trail ideal for hiking, cycling, and skating, and connecting a few parks, offering playgrounds and athletic fields, as well as an Aquatics Center. In Smithfield you also find the Ava Gardner Museum and, in the Downtown Smithfield Historic District, there are remarkable examples of Classical Revival and Art Deco style architecture and historic buildings.
